The Pi Omicron Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. of Little Rock, is proud to announce its
National Achievement Week Program Banquet that will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the La Quinta Inn and Suites Ball Room, 617 S. Broadway, Little Rock, AR at 7:00p.m..
The Chapter will award three (3) scholarships to high school students in the Little Rock area. The awards will be given for placing in the local chapter’s essay contest. The essay must be entitled: “The Impact of social media on the advancement of social and economic issues in the United States and the world”. Awards are 1st place--$1,500.00, 2nd place--$1,000.00 & 3rd place--$500.00.
The chapter will also present local community leader Leroy Brownlee with the Citizen of the Year Award. Brownlee served as chairman of the Arkansas Board of Parole for 17 years.
The National Achievement Week is a mandated program of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. It was originally designed to promote the study of African American life and history.
