The Novel T's Pine Bluff Summer Jazz Fest is a celebration of Jazz in it's different forms. It's an opportunity for seasoned Jazz enthusiasts and new Jazz enthusiasts to enjoy fun, relaxing activities.
The Novel T's Pine Bluff Summer Jazz Fest includes Seminars, Social Events, and Concerts. Each entertaining event features skillful, artistic presentations and performances from knowledgeable and exciting musicians and scholars.
So mark your calendar for the Novel T's Pine Bluff Summer Jazz Fest happening June 9-11, 2011! Take some time to have fun!

Jazz Fest Schedule of Activities

The Kick-off Reception for the Novel T's Pine Bluff Summer Jazz Fest will be on Thursday, June 9, 2011. The Opening Reception will be a relaxing reception hosted by FATHERS & SONS Clothiers.
The Reception hosted by FATHERS & SONS Clothiers will include light snacks, beverages, and Jazz music playing in the background all provided by FATHERS & SONS Clothiers.
The time is 5:00 to 7:00 pm. It will be an opportunity to socialize and set the mood for the Fest.
This event is FREE and open to the public.

Novel T's Summer Jazz Fest will feature Jazz Open Mic Nite at 7:00 p.m, Friday, June 10, 2011.
Open Mic Nite will be at Tastesetter Eatery, located at 615 Main Street in Pine Bluff.
Jazz Open Mic Nite will be an opportunity for Artists to display their talents and fans to enjoy.
If you can sing, dance, play an instrument. perform poetry or anything else fun and creative,
you should participate!
The theme will be "Jazz." Artists are asked to express themselves using Jazz History, Themes, Rhythms, or Rhymes. The event is sponsored by Novel T's and Tastesetter Eatery.

Arkansas is full of Jazz History. The Arkansas Jazz History seminar will be in the Arts & Sciences Center Theater at 12:00 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2011.
Radio station KABF's own noted Arkansas Jazz historian, John Cain, will teach participants about some noteworthy Jazz musicians, people, and events from Arkansas that have made a significant mark on Jazz History.
This event is FREE and open to the public.

Improv 101
Ever wonder how to begin improvising? Improv 101 Seminar will be in the Arts & Sciences Center Theater at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2011. Improv 101 will be an introductory seminar to teach any musician or vocalists the basic techniques for improvising to Jazz music.
Come to this seminar and learn the basics from respected
Professor/Professional Musician, Milt Jackson.

Jazz Outside gives you the feel of authentic street performances. Jazz Outside will take place at the Arts & Sciences Center Patio at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2011.
Saxophonist Darnell Cann-Ward will entertain guests up-close & personal.
Enjoy an unforgettable experience.

Jam Session
Bring your Ax (instrument or voice) or just come watch the action. The Jazz Fest Jam Session will be in the Arts & Sciences Theater from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2011.
Noted Pianist, E.C. Brown will lead this exciting Jam Session. Don't miss it!
This event is FREE and open to the public.

The Jazz Festival Main Event will be a Jazz Concert in the Arts and Sciences Theater at 7:00 pm. The Main Event will feature Music by Rodney Block and the Real Music Lovers. There will also be performances by E.C. Brown, Robin Tisdale-Johnson, and The J Phil Band.

AFTER EFFECT
The "AFTER EFFECT" happens on Saturday, June 11, 2011 - after the Main event and will Top-off a
great weekend of Jazz with good music, conversation, food, and drink.
Tastesetter Eatery, located at 615 Main in Pine Bluff, will host the "AFTER EFFECT"
which will feature the music of Legoria Payton and Friends.
